Dug G, whose real name is Jean-Hubert Valcourt, was born on September 10, 1982, in Port-de-Paix, Haiti. He is one of the leading figures in Haitian Creole rap. A rapper, photographer, radio host, artistic director, and entrepreneur, he is currently based in New York, where he pursues a rich and multifaceted career.

Childhood and Education
The eldest of five children, he attended primary school with the Brothers of Christian Instruction of Saint Joseph, and then secondary school at Collège Notre-Dame de Lourdes in Port-de-Paix. His talent for rap emerged early on during school competitions, which led to his joining his first group: Cosmic Rap Boys.

Early Groups
He then founded Lova Man and His Crew, followed by Osmoz, two local groups that marked his beginnings in the Haitian hip-hop scene and refined his artistic identity.

Rise to Stardom: RockFam Lame A
Arriving in Port-au-Prince for his university studies, Dug G became the host of the Rap’Rocher show on Radio Planèt Kreyòl, a key role in the dissemination of Haitian Creole rap in the early 2000s.
With Pikan and other artists, he co-founded RockFam Records Entertainment, which would give rise to the legendary group RockFam Lame A.
