Max Badette

Max Badette is a Haitian singer known for his warm voice and his significant contribution to modern compas music. As a leading vocalist of Djet-X, he helped shape the romantic compas sound of the 1980s–2000s with classics such as “Love to Love,” “Ret Sezi,” “Te Extraño,” and “Yabofe.”

Throughout his career, he also collaborated with groups like Les Gypsies de Pétion-Ville and Sexy One, and appeared on rare projects including Alix Jacques Colé Colé Band.

His solo work includes the album Haiti Boleros, where he explores Haitian boleros and romantic ballads through personal compositions such as “Veux-tu,” “À ma fille,” “Incapable d’aimer,” and “Résignation,” often created in collaboration with guitarist Robert Martino.

A respected figure in compas love, Max Badette remains celebrated for his vocal elegance, melodic sensibility, and lasting influence on Haitian music.
